October 8th saw Feast of St Peter hold its annual supporters evening where a total of £14,750 was distributed to local good causes – details can be seen here:

We also announced the headline act for the 2015 event. The UK’s leading Bee Gees tribute act – Stayin’ Alive!

As the year moves ever faster towards Christmas, I am deeply involved in the organisation of the Christmas Fun Night in Chalfont St Peter. This is fabulous event which sees us close the centre of the village on the evening of the first Friday in December and have over 40 stalls, late night shopping, carol singing, various other musical entertainment and a kiddies fun fair in operation.

Several thousand people are expected to attend and all profits go to local good causes as part of Feast of St Peter.

As well as being involved with the Feast of St Peter, I am also Vice Chair of the Neighbourhood Action Group who work closely with the police, neighbourhood watch and other local groups to ensure that Chalfont St Peter remains a wonderful place to work, rest and play!

The last couple of months have also seen me take up my position as a Councillor on the Parish Council and positions on the PR and Communications and Open Spaces committees. I must admit to being full of admiration for the dedication of the Council members and the Council staff although the pace of progress and slightly bureaucratic “nature of the beast” can be frustrating and, in my opinion, could do with operating more along commercial and business lines. The problem is that the decision making processes are, understandably, designed to try and avoid mistakes or controversy but, I believe, things can stagnate more than necessary. Whether I will ultimately be able to keep my head below the parapet on these aspects remains to be seen!
