Michael Day, Managing Director of Integra Property Services, who celebrated fifty years in the property industry in December, wants to thank everyone who supported Diabetes UK and The Propertymark Trust by donating and downloading his Christmas single.
The original song has had over 1500 streams on various music channels such as Spotify and Apple Music and the animated video created by Toby Martin also enjoyed more than 700 views on You Tube.
Michael played the song live at five open mic gigs in December and videos of some of these live performances are also on You Tube.
It was, however, the donations for downloads made on the Bandcamp platform that are being shared between the two charities. Total revenues, less the platform charges, amounted to £2,104.98 and Michael was delighted with the total raised.
He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated and I am delighted with the total raised.
We live in a world where streaming has become the main delivery channel for music and, bearing in mind that people could download the track from just £2, to raise in excess of £2000 after platform fees, was an excellent outcome.
The song may not have troubled Kylie in terms of being the Christmas number one but I have received a lot of wonderful comments about the song, the video and the causes I am supporting.”
Michael, who, as well as being a leading sales, management and compliance trainer and estate agency consultant, is a regular musician on the local open mic and small gig circuit and has an album of thirteen original songs entitled Prodigal Son that is being released at the end of February.
