Michael Day completes charity walk

Sunday 28th September saw Michael Day, Managing Director of Integra Property Services, together with his daughter Carrie, complete the ten mile London Bridges Wellness Walk on behalf of Diabetes UK.

This is the third successive year that Michael has completed the ten mile walk from Battersea Park to Tower Bridge and, at the time of crossing the finishing line, he had raised a little over £2500 for Diabetes UK.

Michael who has had Type One diabetes for over thirty five years said: “This is a cause close to my heart as it undoubtedly contributed to me requiring a triple heart bypass in 2021 and it is now estimated that around one in fifteen people in the UK have either type one or type two diabetes and possibly one in five if you include those who remain undiagnosed.

Diabetes UK is a wonderful charity and I am proud to have raised around £8000 in the last three years – the last two years I had also undertaken the million step challenge (around 500 miles) but had decided to give my feet a rest this year!

I’d like to thank all of my friends and family who have donated so generously and enabled me to contribute to such a worthy cause.”

Michael’s personal fund raising page remains open until the end of October and so if you haven’t yet donated or are feeling even more generous, you can do so here.
