Article from the Easter edition of Communique
Training, mentoring and coaching remain at the heart of my business activities.
I run regular compliance training courses on an open basis as well as individual courses for companies. I also run sessions on behalf of Propertymark.
My sales and management courses are only run on a bespoke basis for individual companies – details on my website – please give me a call to discuss.
I am currently mentoring four people across the industry – two relatively new negotiators (one sale and one lettings), a Proptech business owner and a highly experienced Director of Lettings – obviously the discussions and input are completely different in each scenario. We meet regularly to ensure that there is sufficient momentum in the process but also sufficient time to absorb and implement and action points decided.
With my fifty years of experience at all levels together with my qualifications and training/coaching skills, these sessions are highly focused on change, outcomes and ensuring that people are the best they can be.
As a follow on from the compliance training I undertake, I often get involved in auditing businesses and working with senior management on ensuring systems and processes are delivering what is required. I have just been retained by an estate agency group with national coverage to work with their regionally based agents to ensure that, across the network, appropriate standards are being met.
My approach is black and white in terms of facts but with these facts delivered in a supportive and coaching style aimed at eradicating shortcomings and ensuring that going forward there is a greater understanding of requirements and a pragmatic and commercial approach to delivery.
With the Renters Rights Act due to go live on 1st May, I have been working with a number of agents on their systems and processes and, in particular, on their commercial offering and fee structures.
My Lettings Event “product” is being used to enhance vital client and customer communication at this crucial time. Find out more here:
Viewery
I am working with this new AI driven platform that uses voice AI viewing feedback to enable agents to produce meaningful, data driven reports for home sellers to facilitate better pricing, increased motivation, trust and, ultimately win more instructions and close more sales.
My colleague Dimitry is currently undertaking some pre-launch research and would welcome the opportunity of a 20 minute chat with agents – no pitch, just research – if you would be interested in giving your input and finding out more – give me a call and I will arrange.
Homing IN
I am working with this exciting property discovery app that uses geo technology to place virtual for sale and to let boards on a map enabling a user to see local available properties on their phone or tablet. The viewer can then click straight through to the property on the agent’s website. Simple and very effective.
A recent TV launch campaign has generated significant traffic and more agent users.

Agents Together
I have been involved with this charitable foundation since it started in 2020. Now in a new incarnation, I have become a Director and part of a leadership team committed to helping individuals be the best they can be through our mentorship programmes.
We are supported by Rightmove.
We do not provide training or coaching but will match mentors and mentees to work together and help people find the inner resources needed for success and to develop sound thinking, resilience and confidence to put ideas and skills into action.
Propertymark Trust
I am both a Director and Trustee of he charity and chair the educational group.
The trust is closely linked but independent of Propertymark and provides financial grants to support those who are suffering hardship – often due to illness, death and other, often life changing situations.
We also, through our Class of 26 initiative, provide educational bursaries for those seeking to gain Level 3 qualifications but for whom the financial cost would be a barrier.
Applications are open to those who are Propertymark members, families or close associates and staff.
We also seek donations and financial support from individuals and businesses in order that we can continue our work. Our dormant funds initiative has raised over £200,000 in the last 18 months and has cost the donor agents nothing!
