The current challenges and the future of Anti Money Laundering compliance in the estate agency sector

FREE to attend industry round table - as at 27/3 - All places taken - Please contact us to place name on waiting list in case of any cancellations

Central London - Thursday 9th May 2019

You are invited to a round table event to discuss the challenges and complexity of AML compliance within the estate agency sector.

Anti-Money Laundering compliance is complex and difficult to navigate and the penalties for non-compliance are heavy and serious.

The Government is currently stepping up its focus on the estate agency sector through its “Flag It Up” campaign which has highlighted how few SARS (Suspicious Activity Reports) have been made by estate agents.

In addition, HMRC have "upped the ante" on the fines they are issuing. For example,  Countrywide recently received a £215,000 penalty for failures in compliance.

You are therefore invited to join us in discussing the challenges estate agents have in keeping up with ever changing and ever more onerous regulations (The 5th Money Laundering Directive will be introduced by January 2020).

We will also discuss how technology can help streamline and simplify much of the administration associated with running these checks.

Other areas being covered include ID checking for internationals, AML for companies and trusts and ways in which AML could be handled just once in a property transaction instead of on separate occasions by various professionals.

This is a unique opportunity to discuss with others from across the sector, the issues being faced in seeking to comply with AML legislation and to come away better equipped for the future.

The round table will be hosted by Thirdfort and chaired by well-known industry expert, Michael Day.

Places are strictly limited in both number and to one delegate per company.
